Hrvatska nacionalna bibliografija Niz A – knjige
PREDGOVOR
Hrvatska nacionalna bibliografija, Niz A obuhvaća knjige (monografske publikacije) koje je Nacionalna i sveučilišna knjižnica u Zagrebu primala kao obvezni primjerak od hrvatskih tiskara - prema Zakonu o bibliotečnoj djelatnosti i bibliotekama iz 1973. godine te od hrvatskih nakladnika - prema Zakonu o knjižnicama iz 1997. godine. Osim knjiga u uobičajenom smislu riječi, nacionalna bibliografija knjiga uključuje: grafičke mape i kataloge umjetničkih izložaba, note, zemljopisne karte, atlase, turističke vodiče i sitni tisak u izboru.
Od godine 1992, kada je donesen Ustav Republike Hrvatske, osim obveznog primjerka koji čini osnovu Bibliografije, uvršten je i iseljenički tisak - kao dio nacionalnog fonda Croatica. (Croatica uključuje sve publikacije i rukopise ukoliko zadovoljavaju barem jedan od postavljenih uvjeta: autor je Hrvat, objavljeno na hrvatskom jeziku, hrvatski je nakladnik, tiskano je u Hrvatskoj, sadržajno se radi o Hrvatskoj ili o Hrvatima.)
Uvrštavanje iseljeničkog tiska prikupljenog u ostvarenim vezama s iseljeništvom nije samo predstavljanje do sada manje poznatih hrvatskih autora i njihovog rada široj javnosti - prilog je to brisanju podjele na domovinsku i iseljenu Hrvatsku kao negativnom povijesnom nasljeđu. Time se iskazuje integralni kulturni i povijesni identitet hrvatskog naroda u okviru zajedničkog jedinstvenog korpusa kulturnog nasljeđa.
Iz Nacionalne zbirke Croatica, prema usvojenom kriteriju za odabir građe, u Bibliografiju ulaze publikacije hrvatskih autora (Hrvati po nacionalnosti i opredjeljenju, osobe koje svojim dužim djelovanjem u domovini ili inozemstvu bitno doprinose hrvatskoj kulturi), hrvatskih nakladnika (nakladnici s teritorija Republike Hrvatske, hrvatski nakladnici u inozemstvu), publikacije objavljene na hrvatskom jeziku (bez obzira na nacionalnost i državljanstvo autora, mjesto izdavanja ili tiskanja publikacije), te prema proširenom kriteriju prema sadržaju kada je djelo o Hrvatskoj ili o Hrvatima.
Izlazi dvanaest brojeva godišnje. Svaki pojedini svezak, osim glavnog niza, sadrži: Kazalo autora, Kazalo naslova, Kazalo predmeta, Kazalo nakladnika, UDK i ISBN kazalo.
Želeći ispuniti tri bitna kriterija koji čine dobru bibliografiju: potpunost, točnost i preglednost i pridržavajući se preporuka Univerzalne bibliografske kontrole (UBC) u Bibliografiji se koristi obvezni primjerak kao osnova za sadržaj, automatizirana obrada podataka u formatu MARC21, a za formalni opis građe primjenjuju se međunarodni standardi ISBD/M, ISBD/CM, ISBD/S i Pravilnik i priručnik za izradbu abecednih kataloga E. Verone, dio 1, 2, te Upute za primjenu formata MARC21 pri obradi na Odsjeku tekuće bibliografije knjiga i Pododsjeku CIP-a (interno izdanje).
Elementi sadržajne obrade građe obuhvaćene u Nizu A prisutni su u stručnim oznakama
bibliografskih zapisa, stručnom rasporedu tih zapisa, te u zasebnim kazalima: predmeta i UDK oznaka.
Za stručno označavanje bibliografskih zapisa koriste se oznake Univerzalne decimalne klasifikacije (UDK), koje su otisnute ispod svake bibliografske jedinice. Stručni raspored slijedi klasifikacijsku shemu, koja je dobivena kraćenjem potpune stručne oznake, tako da se pri kraćenju uzelo u obzir strukturu pojedine discipline, brojnost uvrštenih radova i značenje neke discipline za nacionalnu kulturu. Bibliografski zapisi svrstani su u stručne skupine prema prvoj stručnoj oznaci toga zapisa, dok se za ostale možebitne stručne oznake izrađuju uputnice Vidi i br.: HK... u dotičnim stručnim skupinama.
Kazalo predmeta sadrži predmetne odrednice utvrđene analizom sadržaja odabrane građe. Od dodjeljivanja predmetnih odrednica uvijek su izuzeti zakoni, zatim izvorni književni, filozofski i vjerski tekstovi, potom notni i kartografski materijali, kao i osnovnoškolski te srednjoškolski udžbenici, s izuzetkom srednjoškolskih udžbenika onih disciplina koje se ne izučavaju na višim obrazovnim stupnjevima.
Predmetne odrednice autoriziraju se u normativnoj bazi podataka korištenjem MARC21 AUTHORITY formata, tako da se po vrsti razlikuju osobne, obiteljske, korporativne, zemljopisne i tematske predmetne odrednice. Predmetna odrednica sastoji se od vodeće, odnosno pristupne odrednice, te dopunskih tematskih, zemljopisnih, vremenskih ili formalnih pododrednica. Vodeća osobna, obiteljska ili korporativna odrednica izrađuje se prema Pravilniku i priručniku za izradbu abecednih kataloga Eve Verone, dok se vodeća zemljopisna i tematska odrednica izrađuje u skladu s načelima danim u dokumentima IFLE: Guidelines for subject authority and reference entries i Principles underlying subject heading languages. Pododrednice koje im slijede služe točnijem označivanju predmeta dokumenta. Sadržaj jednog dokumenta može, ukoliko je to potrebno, biti izražen s više
istovrsnih ili raznovrsnih predmetnih odrednica. Uputnice s neusvojenih na usvojene nazive, odnosno imena, daju se samo ako se neusvojeni oblik nalazi u formalnom dijelu bibliografskog zapisa.

Croatian National Bibliography Series A - books
FOREWORD
The Croatian National Bibliography, Series A includes books (monographic publications) that the National and University Library in Zagreb received as mandatory copies from Croatian printers - according to Law on library activity and libraries from 1973 and from Croatian publishers - according to The Law on Libraries from 1997. In addition to books in the usual sense of the word, the national bibliography of books includes: graphic maps and catalogs of art exhibitions, notes, geographical maps, atlases, tourist guides and small print in a selection.
Since 1992, when the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia was adopted, in addition to the mandatory copy that forms the basis of the Bibliography, the emigrant press has also been included - as part of the Croatica national fund. (Croatica includes all publications and manuscripts if they meet at least one of the set conditions: the author is a Croat, it was published in the Croatian language, the publisher is Croatian, it was printed in Croatia, the content is about Croatia or the Croats.)
The inclusion of expatriate press collected in established connections with emigration is not only a presentation of hitherto lesser-known Croatian authors and their work to the wider public - it is a contribution to erasing the division into homeland and emigrant Croatia as a negative historical legacy. This demonstrates the integral cultural and historical identity of the Croatian people within the framework of the common, unique body of cultural heritage.
From the National Collection of Croatica, according to the criteria adopted for the selection of materials, the Bibliography includes publications by Croatian authors (Croats by nationality and commitment, persons who, through their long-term activity in the homeland or abroad, significantly contribute to Croatian culture), Croatian publishers (publishers from the territory of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian publishers abroad), publications published in the Croatian language (regardless of the nationality and citizenship of the author, the place of publication or printing of the publication), and according to the extended criteria according to the content when a work about Croatia or Croats.
Twelve issues are published annually. Each individual volume, apart from the main series, contains: Index of Authors, Index of Titles, Index of Subjects, Index of Publishers, UDC and ISBN Index.
Wanting to fulfill the three essential criteria that make up a good bibliography: completeness, accuracy and visibility and following the recommendations of the Universal Bibliographic Control (UBC) the Bibliography uses a mandatory copy as the basis for the content, automated data processing in the format MARC21, and for the formal description of the material, international standards are applied ISBD/M, ISBD/CM, ISBD/S and Rulebook and manual for the creation of alphabetical catalogs E. Verona, part 1, 2, and Instructions for the application of the MARC21 format when processing at the Current Book Bibliography Section and the CIP Subsection (internal edition).
The elements of content processing of the material included in Series A are present in the professional designations
bibliographic records, professional arrangement of those records, and in separate indexes: subjects and UDC marks.
Marks are used for professional marking of bibliographic records Universal decimal classifications (UDK), which are printed under each bibliographic unit. The professional arrangement follows a classification scheme, which was obtained by shortening the complete professional designation, so that the structure of a particular discipline, the number of works included and the significance of a discipline for national culture were taken into account when shortening. Bibliographic records are classified into professional groups according to the first professional designation of that record, while referrals are made for other possible professional designations See also no.: HK... in the respective expert groups.
The subject index contains the subject determinants determined by the analysis of the content of the selected material. Laws, then original literary, philosophical and religious texts, then sheet music and cartographic materials, as well as elementary and high school textbooks, with the exception of high school textbooks of those disciplines that are not studied at higher education degrees, are always exempted from the assignment of subject designations.
Subject determinants are authorized in the normative database by using MARC21 AUTHORITY format, so that personal, family, corporate, geographical and thematic subject areas differ by type. The subject designation consists of a leading, or access designation, and additional thematic, geographical, temporal, or formal sub-determinations. The leading personal, family or corporate directory is created according to the Rulebook and manual for the creation of alphabetical catalogs of Eva Verona, while the leading geographical and thematic directory is created in accordance with the principles given in the IFLE documents: Guidelines for subject authority and reference entries and Principles underlying subject heading languages. The sub-clauses that follow them serve to more accurately mark the subject of the document. The content of one document can, if necessary, be expressed with more
of the same or different subject determinants. References from unadopted to adopted names, i.e. names, are given only if the unadopted form is in the formal part of the bibliographic record.
